Meet Our Flock

Since December 2024, our Babydoll Southdown sheep have brought joy to Grit-n-Grace Farms, starting with two pregnant ewes who grew our flock. Registered with the North American Babydoll Southdown Sheep Association and Registry (NABSSAR), these petite, friendly sheep are ideal for 4-H projects and our sustainable rotational grazing system, efficiently nurturing our land. Our kids care for and show them, learning responsibility through every fair season, with our flock earning accolades like Speedy’s Grand Champion title at our local county show.

  • Sheep standing in green grass

    Jessica

Jessica is one of our first ewes. We purchased her along with one other in December of 2024 and she had twins, Dottie and Speedy in spring 2025. She is a gentle soul and an excellent mama.

  • A lamb with curly cream-colored wool and sheepdog-like feet standing on green grass with yellow flowers, near a wire fence.

    Joy

Joy is one of the first lams to be born on our farm. She was the first born of a set of twins. Snow is her full sister. My daughter named her Joy because of how happy she was for the little one to be born. Joy was Reserve Grand Champion in her breed class at our local county fair.

  • A small sheep standing in green grass with a white wooden fence and trees in the background.

    Snow

Snow is a full sister to Joy and was our very first bottle baby. Being the second born of a set of twins her mother did not take to her, so she enjoyed her first few weeks inside our home. She was aptly named Snow because her wool was as white as snow when she was born. She is definitely our cuddle bug and loves attention.

    Dottie

Dottie was the very first lamb to be born on our farm and she was the liveliest little lamb! She is full of spunk and a full sister to Speedy. We can’t wait to see the lambs that she produces in the future.

  • Close-up of a fluffy sheep with a piece of grass in its mouth, standing on green grass in front of a white fence and partly cloudy sky.

    Speedy

Speedy is a full brother to Dottie and full of sass. He is one of the most photogenic lambs that we have and was named Speedy because he enjoyed racing around the pastures as a lamb. He won Grand Champion for his breed at our local county fair and is currently up for sale. (2025) He is my son’s lamb and will only go to an approved home.

  • A young boy standing next to a sheep with a blue ribbon reading "Trigg County Livestock 2025 Grand Champion." The boy is wearing a checkered shirt and jeans, and there are green plants and a banner in the background.
